Archival Reviews of Neurotology Research from a University Hospital of India
摘要
This archival review highlights the neurotological research legacy at King George Medical College. Lucknow , under the mentorship of Late Prof. Subhash Chandra Mishra , the former NES President. It presents scientifically summarized findings from 23 unpublished dissertations spanning a wide range of neurotological topics, including audiovestibular dysfunctions in systemic diseases, vertigo etiologies, central lesions, and pharmacotoxicity. Emphasis is placed on diagnostic advancements through caloric testing, audiometry, stabilometry, and electrodiagnostic tools. Despite modern imaging advances, these foundational studies remain clinically relevant. The compilation underscores the enduring importance of classical neurophysiological concepts and advocates their integration with evolving technologies in neurotology and balance disorder management. Despite the emergence of high-resolution imaging and artificial intelligence, these physiologically grounded, bedside studies reaffirm the enduring value of clinical neuro-otological assessment in contemporary practice.
