<p>Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is a common yet potentially life-threatening emergency in children. Diagnosis may be delayed when the aspiration event is unwitnessed or presents with nonspecific symptoms Here, we report a case of a 6-year-old boy who presented with sudden respiratory distress and right lung collapse because of an unwitnessed aspiration of plastic wrapper. The diagnosis was confirmed by radiography and bronchoscopy. The foreign body was successfully removed via rigid bronchoscopy, leading to full clinical and radiological recovery.</p><p>This case contributes to existing literature by highlighting a rare presentation of radiolucent foreign body aspiration leading to complete lung collapse, diagnosed only after secondary respiratory deterioration, despite initial clinical improvement.</p>

摘要

Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is a common yet potentially life-threatening emergency in children.
