Introduction <p>Tracheoesophageal Prosthesis (TEP) in voice rehabilitation after total laryngectomy has been evolving since the 1980s.The quality of voice with the prosthesis is an important thing to look into to ensure that this mode of rehabilitation provides an intelligible voice and thus reasonable quality of life in laryngectomised patients.</p> Objectives <p>To assess the acoustic and pronunciation parameters of tracheoesophageal speech in post total laryngectomy patients with in situ TEP with the help of Praat software (Version 6.1.08).</p> Methods <p>Fourteen post Total Laryngectomy patients with TEP who developed successful speech underwent voice recording in a sound proof room and acoustic and pronunciation parameters were assessed using Praat software. Fundamental frequency, Intensity, jitter and shimmer were the acoustic parameter assessed. `Pronunciation parameters were assessed manually. All the measured parameters were analysed for their statistical significance in comparison to normal population.</p> Results <p>Acoustic and pronunciation parameters of TEP speech which were recorded showed satisfactory outcomes and were comparable with normal speech.</p> Conclusion <p>Acoustic as well as pronunciation parameters of tracheoesophageal speech, were almost comparable with normal speech. Thus, the tracheoesophageal prosthesis is a better rehabilitation option among laryngectomised patients, improving their post-operative quality of life.</p>

Introduction
