<p>In Rural India, childhood hearing loss presents both a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge, due to limited access to specialized healthcare services. North Kashmir’s Baramulla is a border district which had limited healthcare facility till 2019.it is in year 2019 when new government medical college was started in Baramulla specialized health care facilities started in that region. This cross-sectional, observational study was conducted to analyze the clinical and audiological characteristics of hearing-impaired children in North Kashmir. This study shows majority of patients where in age group 6–10&#xa0;years and majority of patients had sensorineural hearing loss. 15% of patients had associated significant family history. This study shows that a significant population of hearing impaired children remain undaignosed in rural area of India. Healthcare professionals should increase efforts to diagnose these hearing impaired children at younger age so that treatment is not delayed.</p>
