<p>To study the outcome of intratympanic steroid therapy in the study group in terms of post-therapy hearing gain on pure tone audiometry. To study the complications encountered during and after therapy. A prospective observational study was conducted among 72 patients of 18–60 years of age presenting to the department of Otorhinolaryngology of a tertiary care hospital in India over a period of 3 years (June 2021 to May 2024), fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria, to study the outcome of intratympanic steroid (Methylprednisolone, 125&#xa0;mg/ml) therapy in terms of hearing recovery 1week and 1month post-therapy and complications encountered during and after therapy. 72 patients were included in the study (56% were males and 44% females), the mean age at enrolment being 49.7 years. Overall, 40 patients (55.56%) showed improvement in PTA while 30 (41.67%) had no change in hearing. According to Siegel’s criteria, 12 patients showed “complete recovery”, 22 showed “partial recovery” and 6 had “slight recovery”. 58.33% of patients presented within 72&#xa0;h of onset of symptoms. Among these patients, 28.57% showed complete recovery, 33.33% and 14.29% showed partial and slight recovery respectively suggesting statistically significant correlation between hearing recovery and time of presentation (CI-95%, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.005). The study suggested that intratympanic steroid therapy is an effective and safe treatment for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss with positive influence on hearing recovery with early initiation.</p>
