<p>The aging population of India emphasizes the great demand for senior-friendly houses that meet physical, emotional and social needs of the elderly. This scoping review examines the relationship between the silver economy and senior-friendly housing, emphasizing how supportive environments and universal design principles promote autonomy, well-being and active ageing. Through reviewing data from reliable databases like Scopus, MDPI, PubMed and Google Scholar the study analysed 30 papers on how senior friendly housing reduces dependency and increases economic opportunities. The findings reveal that such senior-friendly supports sustainable development by creating demand for age- specific products and services, while generating jobs in the design, construction, maintenance. In order to promote healthy ageing and optimize the financial potential of the silver economy, this paper highlights the necessity of integrating universal design principles with senior- friendly housing policies can be adapted to India’s socio-economic and demographic context. This approach ensures that housing meets the need of the elderly, while contributing to economic growth, fostering supportive living environments and well-being.</p>
