<p>Single mothers do most of the care work in single-parent families. The incompatibility of care work and paid work leads to particularly high stress and time pressure for single parents in their daily lives. This pressure is increased by society’s expectations of motherhood. Using qualitative interviews, this article reconstructs the various strategies single mothers employ in dealing with the figure of the “good mother” and interpreting them within their logics of recognition.</p>

摘要

Single mothers do most of the care work in single-parent families.
