<p>The following article offers insights into the results of the research study “Enabling Social Participation of Children in Residential Care during Pandemics (JuPa)”, which was conducted by the University of Dortmund (TU) in collaboration with the University of Münster and funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Spaceflight (BMFTR). The study includes a&#xa0;qualitative study, based on interviews with young people and a&#xa0;quantitative, nationwide online questionnaire survey of professionals and foster parents. The following article will present the results regarding the use of digital devices and digitalization processes observed during the pandemic. The focus is on the specific challenges in terms of digital participation in these special care settings of residential care.</p>
