摘要

This article examines how German newspapers construct so called Clan Crime as a social problem. In doing so, ‘Clan Crime’ is primarily attributed to cultural and ethnic factors, while social causes such as deficits in integration or educational disadvantages are largely ignored. This leads to a dominant demand for repressive measures, which is supported to varying degrees by both tabloid and quality media. The media framing prevents differentiated debates and delegitimizes preventive approaches, thereby structurally impeding sustainable prevention.
