<p>This article examines the youth policy positions and political interventions of the right-wing party AfD (Alternative for Germany) in the domain of child and youth work, drawing on selected findings from a&#xa0;recent study. The analysis reveals that the AfD’s actions do not follow a&#xa0;linear trajectory, but rather unfold as a&#xa0;complex and dynamic process across multiple arenas, shaped by varying strategic practices. Furthermore, the findings highlight that the professional spaces within youth work are significantly influenced by the interactions and responses of other key actors, including local political representatives, public administrators, and service providers. Specifically, the article demonstrates that where AfD positions align with conservative discourses, there is a&#xa0;reinforcement of far-right ideologies, which in turn exerts pressure on youth work—particularly its emancipatory forms. This is illustrated through a&#xa0;case study focusing on the situational dynamics of girls’ work.</p>
