<p>The article examines the acceptance and organisational framework of digital technologies, in particular artificial intelligence (AI), in social work practice from the perspective of professionals. While digital technologies are already widely used in the administrative sector, there is still a&#xa0;reluctance to use digital technologies in direct work with clients. Recent advancements in AI are opening up new possibilities for using digital technologies in client interactions. At the same time, this presents professionals with ethical and professional challenges. The empirical study of young professionals shows that the use of AI in a&#xa0;professional context is viewed critically. Key concerns include data protection and the irreplaceability of human empathy by AI. Acceptance of AI and digital technologies depends on the digital skills and experience of professionals in the use of digital technologies in a&#xa0;professional context, which can still be developed in this area. In light of an increasingly digitalized society, the article calls for critical reflection on technological developments and highlights the need for further education, training, and participatory technology design to sustainably shape social work practice.</p>
