<p>Germany ratified the UN Child Right Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1992. This is not sufficiently reflected in child protection procedures. This can be seen in the stories of growing up with violence. The article looks for reasons and finally shows what knowledge needs to be acquired—through scientific research and reflection on practice—on the basis of which child protection could be designed in a&#xa0;child-centred way.</p>
