摘要

For more than two decades, there has been an expansion of social work into school and early intervention settings. Currently, the need for social work in daycare centers is increasingly being expressed and linked to the political goal of “closing the gap in the prevention chain” (Clausen and Wobker-Howen 2019). The target groups of early childhood social work are mainly parents, but also childcare professionals. The article begins with an attempt at a definition and suggests distinguishing between a narrower (Kita social work) and a broader understanding of social work in daycare centers. Based on observations in Berlin, more recent developments are outlined and research questions are formulated.
