The article focuses on the question of the political dimension of education and the contribution that social work, which sees itself as critical, can make to concretising the content of political education work oriented towards the precarious reality of the lives of its addressees. Using an example from the practice of social work in the field of youth work, it is shown how the football pitch environment of children and adolescents can be transformed into a political arena. It discusses how children and adolescents can learn to articulate their life-relevant topics and interests in the form of political education from below. This results in childhood and educational policy arguments for the demand of political education in social work.
