The article addresses verbal, physical and structural violence on football pitches between players, against referees and with the participation of spectators from the perspective of a formerly Turkish and now post-migrant amateur football club in Duisburg-Marxloh, a marginalized district within the Ruhr metropolitan region. In a conversation with the author, two board members of SV Rhenania Hamborn 1949 explain their practical approaches to preventing violent forms of dealing with social conflicts and behavior that deviates from the norm. Those responsible for the club illustrate how they combine their concept beyond the sports sector with holistic, educational and local policy interventions.
