By merging child benefit, citizen’s allowance and social assistance for children, the child supplement and parts of the education and participation package in the form of a basic child allowance, the traffic light coalition wants to solve the problem of growing poverty among children and young people. This article examines whether the project is capable of doing this, what disputes have arisen within the coalition and what needs to be done to eliminate its weaknesses.
