Stigmatization and prejudice are related concepts. People with an addiction suffer from stigmatization by similar mechanisms as other people who suffer from prejudice. Gender bias and the stigma of addiction is an intersection that must also be considered by future professionals, although the direction of gender bias in relation to addiction must be considered in a differentiated way. Parenthood is a particularly sensitive issue for people with addictions. Preliminary data shows that gender-specific attributions of positive and negative personality traits are made here.
