Von der individuellen Nachfragemacht zur kollektiven Teilhabemacht

The authors argue that current youth welfare is deficit-orientated and focuses on individual help instead of promoting “joint task accomplishment”. They suggest shifting the focus from compensatory help to the creation of a democratic social co-operative. Co-operatives are based on four principles: Promotion, Identity, Democracy and Solidarity. The Horn neighbourhood cooperative, which aims to improve the social infrastructure and promote the participation of residents, is presented as an example. The authors emphasise the importance of the code ‘with’, in which all those involved work together to solve common problems and strengthen collective participatory power. They argue in favour of a new youth welfare system that places the education and participation of children and young people at the centre and is geared towards strengthening the subject rights of young people.
