摘要

Wideband configurations of rectangular slots cut shorted plate rectangular microstrip antenna are presented. With reference to the fundamental TM1/2,0 resonant mode, multiple slots tune the spacing of TM1/2,1, TM1/2,2, TM1/2,3 and TM1/2,4 resonant mode frequencies that achieves a wider bandwidth. Amongst all the designs, shorted rectangular patch embedded with four rectangular slots achieves a maximum bandwidth. Using an air substrate, it offers bandwidth of 855 MHz (75.16%), whereas on suspended FR4 substrate, it gives bandwidth of 668 MHz (68.44%). Slot cut antenna offers radiation pattern in the broadside, supported with a gain of more than 4 dBi over a complete bandwidth (BW). With the obtained antenna characteristics, the design presented in the present study will find applications in GSM mobile band. Experimental validation in all the designs is carried out, which shows close matching against the simulated results.
