Application of Nonlinear Taft Equation to the Partition Coefficients of Aliphatic Alcohols: A Chemical Education Perspective
摘要
Partition/distribution coefficient is a more than 150-year-old known physical constant with wide application in separating two compounds in an organic chemistry laboratory and a host of applications in biological membranes. The present study explores the simple and lucid possibility of making graduate physical-organic chemistry classrooms understand the hydrogen-bonded interactions between solute and solvent.
