Bohman–Korovkin Theorem

The Weierstrass approximation theorem stands out as one of the most beautiful results in mathematical analysis. It asserts that a continuous function on a compact interval can be uniformly approximated by a polynomial. In this article, a striking generalization of the said theorem, which was proved independently by Bohman and Korovkin in the early 1950s, has been discussed.
