Indian Sines and Interpolation Techniques

This paper deals with the methods of construction of trigonometrical tables and interpolation techniques used by ancient Indian mathematicians to calculate intermediate functional values by taking different values of Sinus Totus. The primary purpose for the development of these techniques is to know the correct positions of stars, planets, and other celestial bodies. Some instances have been given for interpolating sine, and charts comparing the values obtained through these techniques to contemporary values have been presented.
