Notes on the Solving Techniques of Chemical Kinetics Data
摘要
This study focuses on understanding the kinetics and mechanism of a specific reaction between HCN and C2H5CHO. The existing literature presents conflicting interpretations of the reaction. According to traditional kinetics concepts, it is assumed that the reaction is a irreversible, first-order one with respect to both [HCN] and [C2H5CHO]. However, contradicting this assumption, organic chemistry principles suggest that the reaction is reversible. Additionally, the mechanisms proposed for both the forward and backward rate laws do not align with both kinetics and thermodynamics concepts. To address these discrepancies, this theoretical study aims to propose alternative interpretations and solutions to the data. Furthermore, based on a combination of kinetics concepts and organic chemistry principles, alternative mechanisms are presented. The results demonstrate that these alternative interpretations and mechanisms are more rational and consistent with the available data.
