Facility layout planning using ALDEP and SketchUp for a printing company

Today, the goal of a printing company is to ensure customer satisfaction by producing quality printed materials following customer needs and to become a pioneer in this sector. In addition, it is important to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and operate competitively by following sustainability and technological developments. In this study, the aim is to design a new facility, focusing on workforce and capacity problems arising from seasonal fluctuations. The company’s primary goal is to manage its workforce effectively and avoid temporary labor costs while also overcoming capacity shortages during high-demand periods. In this context, the main problem addressed in this study is to evaluate the suitability of establishing a new facility as a solution to existing problems. For this purpose, a new facility proposal was made for the company with the help of the ALDEP algorithm and Sketchup.
