A solution to interfacial friction in bulk deformation processes using alternate specimen geometry and finite element simulation of the process
摘要
Most of the metal forming industries depends on the analysis software’s than physical simulation. If the realistic conditions are considered along with the friction model, the manufacturing industries will save enough time, wastage of material and manpower. Moreover, the simulation results and their accuracy of deformation pattern depends on the friction model considered and the realistic friction conditions in addition to material property. Here, the tests were performed on the physical Ring Compression Test (RCT) using alternate ring geometry. The results of experiments were used as input for finite element (FE) analysis of alternate ring geometry. The observed results of FE were having good compromise with the data obtained from experiment. The tests were conducted on Al 6061 specimens with alternate geometry.
