Optimization of WEDM of Inconel 625 by employing MABAC, MARKOS and PIV practices: a comparative study
摘要
WEDM is unique and proficient industrial process to machine hard-to-cut materials. In this investigation, WEDM of Inconel-625 work piece material is executed by means of zinc coated brass wire as wire conductor. Taguchi’s L27 array is practised to study the effect of machining constraints on productivity characteristics. Machining factors applied while conducting trials are on period, off time, servo voltage, peak current, wire feed rate and wire tension while surface unevenness, overcut and MRR are deliberated as machining performances. Newly invented multi criteria decision making (MCDM) systems, i.e. MABAC, MARCOS and PIV are applied for the optimization of WEDM process. To learn the results of conditions weights on the optimization act of the implemented MCDM techniques MEREC is related to discover the weights. The optimal combination of process factors obtained through MABAC process is On period = 118 µs, Off time = 51 µs, servo voltage = 30 v, peak current = 170 Amp., wire feed = 3 m/min, wire tension = 2 gm while by functioning MARCOS and PIV techniques is On period = 118 µs, Off time = 41 µs, servo voltage = 40 v, peak current = 200 Amp., wire feed = 5 m/min, wire tension = 5 gm. Built on the, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficients, it is remarked that there is seamless equivalence amongst the standing performance of MABAC, MARCOS and PIV procedures.
