A bibliometric study of additively manufactured batteries

Researchers have shown significant interest in additive manufacturing due to its notable applicability in recent years. The additively manufactured battery is regarded as one of the most aesthetically pleasing applications. The electronics industry has been significantly transformed by the introduction of additively manufactured batteries, which include remarkable attributes such as customization and miniaturisation. The objective of this bibliometric investigation is to examine scholarly articles pertaining to the domain of additively manufactured batteries within a time frame spanning from 2008 to 2022. A bibliometric analysis was undertaken on a sample of 149 research documents, employing a statistical methodology to examine annual trends, the productivity of countries, journals, publishers, authors, institutions, and the most often cited research documents. Finally, the use of mapping tools such as VOS Viewer is employed to visually represent the co-authorship network and co-occurrence network of terms. The findings of this analysis suggest a significant increase in research on additively manufactured batteries starting in 2016. Notably, around 64.43% of research documents were published between 2020 and 2022. China and the United States emerged as the major contributors in this field. Additionally, the data indicates that the leading publishers in this discipline are Elsevier and Wiley-VCH. To examine the prevailing research trends and potential prospects, this investigation undertakes an analysis of gaps, gives a conclusion, and addresses the issues pertaining to additively manufactured batteries.
