Dimensional accuracy testing and analysis of 3D metal printed SS316l using DMLS technique
摘要
A sophisticated manufacturing technique called 3D-metal printing uses digital drawings to create 3D-metal items layer by layer. This study presents an empirical investigation and analysis of the dimensional accuracy in SS316L metal 3D printing utilizing Direct Metal Laser Sintering. Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) and ANOVA are the main tools used in this study to assess how process factors affect dimensional accuracy. The three most important process variables are layer thickness, scan speed, and laser power. Various values of these factors were examined in a series of trials, and the resulting dimensional accuracy was evaluated. Using GRA analysis, the experimental results were optimized, and it was discovered that the ideal combination of laser power of 360 W, scan speed of 800 mm/s, and layer thickness of 80 μm was found. Additionally, the research findings showed that the level of scan speed significantly affected the precision of dimensions (43.99%) due to its sensitivity to changes and potential influence from the interaction effect between layer thickness and laser power. The investigation was able to determine the best parameter combinations that resulted in increased dimensional accuracy.
