The potential of “click” chemistry in coating applications: a short review
摘要
“Click” chemistry has gained significant importance since its inception due to its modular nature, orthogonality, high atom economy, stereospecificity, simple reaction conditions, straightforward product isolation, and broad applicability. These attributes have led to its widespread use in various fields, including polymer synthesis, post-polymer modifications, polymeric scaffolds, biomolecule–polymer hybrids, functional biomaterials, and functional nanoparticles. The expanding range of applications spans nearly all major areas of advanced chemistry, from materials science to drug discovery. This review aims to highlight the scope of “click” chemistry in coating applications, with a primary focus on the use of various “click” reactions in the preparation of polymeric scaffolds, crosslinking strategies, and their implementation in coating technologies.
