摘要

Purpose of Review

Downbeat nystagmus (DBN) and cerebellar ataxia present significant challenges in shared clinical management. This review article examines current treatment options for both disorders, focusing on their shared mechanisms, efficacy, and patient outcomes. We include evidence from recent studies on pharmacological interventions, including the use of muscle relaxants and central nervous system (CNS) acting sedatives, as well as non-pharmacological approaches such as vestibular rehabilitation.

Recent Findings

We explore emerging treatments, including novel ion channel modulators and cerebellar stimulation, highlighting their potential benefits and limitations. By integrating findings from various sources, we aim to provide a detailed overview of the state-of-the-art therapies and offer guidance for clinicians in tailoring individualized treatment plans.

Summary

The review underscores the need for continued research to improve therapeutic outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients affected by DBN and cerebellar ataxia.
