摘要

Purpose of Review

This review provides comprehensive description of the relationship between cardiac arrhythmias and cancer therapies along with management approaches (medical and interventional).

Findings

The cancer treatment related cardiotoxicity can cause arrhythmias through direct and indirect mechanisms. The foundation of cardio-oncology involves cardiovascular risk assessment of cancer patients and careful assessment of cardiotoxicity profiles of cancer treatment balancing the risk and benefits of cancer treatments. This is best achieved through a multidisciplinary approach fashion dealing with the theoretical risk of cardiotoxicity and early recognition of actual development of cardiotoxicity throughout cancer journey and beyond. Artificial intelligence is a potential tool that can make delivery of care more effective and efficient for cardio-oncology patients.

Summary

The management and therapeutic strategies involve careful assessment and close collaboration with the oncology team. The knowledge about prevention and treatment of such cancer treatment induced arrhythmia is important and increasingly being recognized. As more novel treatments emerge, a constant vigilance aimed at identifying and managing cancer treatment associated arrhythmias is essential.
