Purpose of Review <p>The purpose of this article is to review current and emerging techniques for portal pressure measurement and liver biopsy in the assessment of portal hypertension and cirrhosis.</p> Recent Findings <p>Accurate diagnosis and staging of portal hypertension are essential for guiding therapeutic interventions and predicting patient outcomes. EUS techniques offer a viable alternative approach for obtaining both portal pressure measurements and liver biopsies.</p> Summary <p>There are new EUS techniques that can be integrated into clinical practice that hold promise for improving patient care, enhancing treatment outcomes, and advancing our understanding of this complex disease process.</p>
