摘要

The present study explored the mediating role of work-life balance in the relationship of adversity quotient and general role stress of Haryana police personnel in India. It also evaluated the direct effect of adversity quotient on role stress of police personnel. To conduct this quantitative research, data from 261 Haryana state police employees were obtained using stratified random sampling. Structural equation modeling confirmed that work-life balance fully mediates the relationship among adversity quotient and general role stress among Haryana police personnel. Adversity quotient also significantly affected police officers’ work-life balance. Therefore, it is imperative for the police department to concentrate on enhancing the adversity quotient of its personnel in order to mitigate the general role stress they experience from every role they undertake. This research builds upon previous analytical investigations into the connection between adversity quotient and role stress by incorporating the mediating influence of work-life balance. Furthermore, this research investigates the influence of adversity quotient on role stress, an area that has been somewhat overlooked in the existing body of literature. The research provides fresh perspectives into adversity quotient, role stress and WLB ideas from India, a developing country in the context of police personnel. Based on the literature, four hypotheses were framed, out of which three were proved significant and one was rejected.
