<p>Frugivory is an uncommon behavior among amphibians, being the fruit-eating frog <i>Xenohyla truncata</i> stands out as the only known anuran species with regular fruit consumption in the wild. Here, we report a novel instance of frugivory involving the ingestion of <i>Schinus terebinthifolia</i> fruits by an adult male <i>X. truncata</i> in a restinga fragment of southeastern Brazil. This observation expands the known dietary repertoire of the species and highlights its potential ecological role as a seed disperser. We contextualize this new record within the broader feeding ecology of <i>X. truncata</i>, discussing its trophic plasticity and potential implications for conservation. Given the species’ restricted range and critically endangered status, understanding its ecological interactions is crucial for informing habitat management and protection strategies. Our findings reinforce the need for further investigation into the functional roles of amphibians in tropical ecosystems.</p>
