Aim <p>This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Buzzy device in reducing pain, anxiety, and physiological responses during venous blood sampling in adults, extending its known benefits beyond pediatric use.</p> Design <p>A prospective randomised controlled trial.</p> Methods <p>This study was conducted with 156 adult patients presenting to the emergency department and scheduled for blood tests. Blood pressure and pulse values, as well as pain and anxiety scores, were recorded both before and after the blood sampling procedure. Patients in the intervention group received Buzzy device application prior to venipuncture; the control group underwent standard sampling. The study adhered to the CONSORT 2010 guidelines.</p> Results <p>There were no significant differences between groups in pre-procedure blood pressure or pulse. Post-procedure measurements showed significantly lower blood pressure and pulse values in the intervention group. Pain and anxiety scores were also significantly lower in the Buzzy group.</p> Conclusion <p>Applying the Buzzy device before venous blood sampling in adult patients effectively reduces post-procedure pain, anxiety, and physiological responses such as pulse rate and blood pressure, demonstrating benefits similar to those previously shown in pediatric populations.</p>

Aim
