<p>This paper primarily investigates the impact of additives on the synthesis of mullite. The results show that the addition of NaF can reduce the optimum calcination temperature of mullite synthesis, and cristobalite is removed when the calcination temperature is 1300°C, but the content of synthetic mullite is very low, because NaF inhibits the formation of mullite at high temperature. As an additive, La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> plays a role in promoting sintering in the reaction of synthesizing mullite, reducing the calcination temperature of synthetic mullite by about 100°C, and the performance of mullite at each calcination temperature is superior to that without La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>.</p>
