摘要

Tellurium, a critical element, is extensively utilized across diverse industries. As the leading global supplier and consumer of tellurium, China has yet to fully explore its tellurium flows and stocks from a life cycle perspective. Employing a dynamic material flow analysis (dMFA) method, this study delves into the features of tellurium flows and stocks in China from 2014 to 2023. The results uncover a substantial tellurium production decline during this period, indicating a high supply risk. This study further reveals that most secondary tellurium production mainly originated from end-of-life (EoL) lead-acid batteries and bearing gears. To ensure sustainable tellurium supply and maintain sustainable tellurium production, several tellurium management measures are correspondingly proposed to facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders and enhance the overall tellurium resource efficiency in China.
