<p>Antimony is a critical and strategic metal resource due to its excellent electrical conductivity and stability at room temperature, which makes it highly versatile in both industrial and everyday applications. To maintain sustainable antimony usage, it is essential to optimize antimony extraction efficiency from ore and secondary sources because of limited antimony resources and poor antimony recovery levels. The primary raw material for antimony extraction is introduced in this study as antimony pyroxene. Apart from conventional methods like pyrometallurgy and wet metallurgy, some novel techniques, including ozone leaching, microwave roasting, and biological leaching, have also been suggested. Several technological concepts, benefits, and drawbacks have all been examined in this study, and innovative ideas and references for the extraction and recovery of antimony metal have been supplied. To improve the extraction of antimony metal, this literature review concludes by summarizing the current status of antimony smelting and offering suggestions for the next innovations and difficulties.</p>
