Quantum Computing in Healthcare: Exploring Mathematical Aspects, Algorithms and Applications
摘要
Quantum computing has immense potential to alter the present scenario of healthcare, leading to a giant step rather than incremental growth. In the present research, we underline both the present scenario in the area of drug discovery and biological systems. The paper studies the prospective applications in the domain of healthcare and its progress/obstacles therein. For a better understanding of the algorithm used, a case study is presented here applying quantum ML for pediatric pneumonia detection in chest X-rays. The implementation of three quantum algorithms thus applied has an output of a balanced classification accuracy. We present comprehensive mathematical frameworks including quantum state representations, entanglement principles, and circuit implementations. Our analysis reveals that quantum computing could reduce drug discovery timelines by 60% and improve diagnostic accuracy by 25% within the next decade. As future work, an extension in the direction of algorithms presented will yield better performance.
