Aus tausendundeiner schlaflosen Nacht zur leitlinienkonformen Insomnie-Diagnostik und Therapie
摘要
Chronic insomnia affects up to 10% of adults and often remains insufficiently diagnosed and treated in clinical practice. To date, there is no practical, structured tool that efficiently supports the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia.
ObjectiveThe aim was to develop a checklist to support the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment of insomnia that is easy to use in clinical practice and adheres to current guidelines.
Materials and methodsAn interdisciplinary working group developed the checklist based on a comprehensive literature review and current guidelines. The focus was on a practical structure integrating well-established diagnostic tools.
ResultsThe ALiBABA checklist covers six key areas: type of insomnia, sleep duration, daytime well-being, triggers, previous treatments, and a differential diagnostic appendix. It incorporates the insomnia severity index (ISI) and practical screening questions to enhance patient participation and differential diagnosis.
ConclusionsThe ALiBABA checklist is an easy-to-use, practice-oriented tool based on current guidelines, designed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia. It supports physician–patient collaboration and has the potential to significantly improve sleep quality through personalized therapy.
