Faster Multi-parameter Thumbnail Preserving Scheme Based on Random Wandering and DHKE for Cloud Environments

In the context of outsourcing images to cloud platforms, the issue of visual privacy protection has attracted much attention. As a result, scholars have proposed a new image encryption paradigm that strikes a balance between usability and privacy, i.e., thumbnail-protected encryption (TPE). Unfortunately, existing TPE systems tend to ignore the time overhead in pursuing and maintaining the same summation value, which makes it difficult to be applied in reality. In view of this, this paper proposes a random walk-based TPE scheme, called RWB-TPE, which avoids a large number of loops and iterations. In addition, this paper also proposes a key management scheme for the TPE scheme, which can effectively avoid malicious analysis of the channel by third parties. The experimental results show that the scheme has excellent defence capability against both state-of-the-art face detection algorithms and pixel-level generated network attacks while guaranteeing high fidelity of decrypted images and low time overhead.
