Generalized dithering using the lattice Boltzmann method
摘要
In the present paper, a generalized dithering approach using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) is proposed. This generalization enables to experiment different models, and to adapt them accordingly to targeted features and problems. As illustrations, 4 models are introduced and tested, including anisotropic gradient-based relaxation time and enhanced equilibrium distribution function, aiming for robust quality and artefacts reduction. These models are implemented on graphics processing units and generically interfaced with the OBLiX framework. The several test-cases performed demonstrate that such models yield better qualitative and quantitative results, proving the adaptability of the generalization. This paper, by providing a general framework for dithering using the LBM, allows an adaptation of the algorithms to complex situations deviating from classically encountered cases.
