Reduction of the noise effects in phase images using a motorized dual-wavelength quantitative phase microscope
摘要
This article introduces a novel method that leads to the reduction of noise effects and improvement in the quality of phase image acquisition in noisy environments using quantitative phase microscopy. In this method, a motorized system was present at the sample location, which allowed the lateral movement of the sample in different directions. By capturing many phase images in different positions and averaging them, two final images corresponding to each wavelength were obtained. Finally, by averaging between the obtained thicknesses of the sample in two wavelengths, the final image with the less noise effect was obtained. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, multiple images of an optical fiber recaptured in noisy condition using a motorized dual-wavelength quantitative phase microscope. The results indicate that the final image is closer to the ideal image with a noticeable reduction in noise.
