<p>The Forensic Restrictiveness Questionnaire (FRQ) is an instrument used to explore the subjective experience of restrictiveness in patients in forensic mental health services. The current study examined the factorial validity of the German translation of the FRQ. The sample consisted of 175 patients from 8&#xa0;forensic psychiatric hospitals in Germany who had been inpatients for at least 1&#xa0;week. We used exploratory factor analysis to examine the factor structure. The results suggest a&#xa0;3-factor solution with the exclusion of three items. These factors can be grouped into&#xa0;(1) interpersonal interaction, (2) support by the clinic and&#xa0;(3) feeling of justice and fairness. This structure should be examined in further studies.</p>
