Die Forensisch-Therapeutische Ambulanz für Gewalt- und Sexualstraftäter in Berlin: Übersicht über 20 Jahre Behandlung und Forschung

Forensic aftercare as part of the supervision of conduct has now been implemented in all German federal states, albeit with considerable differences in the state-specific structure. The Berlin Forensic Therapeutic Outpatient Clinic (FTA) at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin is one of the outpatient clinics that has been offering psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment to ex-offenders from forensic psychiatric and prison systems since 2005. The results of the treatment of, e.g., people with mental retardation and former prisoners on remand as well as the results of the anti-androgen treatment of sex offenders, are encouraging. First results of a study on the recidivism of offenders treated at the FTA confirm a low rate of recidivism.
