摘要

A new saxicolous lichen species, Lobothallia skarduensis, is described from the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. This species inhabits calcareous rocks in cold, semi-arid environments and is characterized by a crustose thallus with short, non-radiating lobes formed by the elongation of a few marginal areoles, a light grey upper surface, small apothecial discs, globose to ellipsoid ascospores, and the absence of secondary metabolites. Morphological, chemical, and molecular data, including ITS sequence analysis, confirm its placement within the genus Lobothallia. A dichotomous key to the nine Lobothallia species currently recorded from Pakistan is provided to facilitate identification, and the diagnostic features distinguishing L. skarduensis from related taxa are discussed.
