<p><i>Ephoria</i> is a Neotropical genus of apatelodid moths (Lepidoptera, Bombycoidea) with superficial similarities between species. Usually, they can be only differentiated by the shape of the process of sacculus of the male genitalia. Until recently <i>Ephoria</i> had eight species and one subspecies. However, the access to type material and dissection of specimens from different localities enabled the discovery of new species and new interpretations of the status of others. Here we revised <i>Ephoria</i> using male and female morphological characters. Additionally, we used the COX1 (barcode region, 658&#xa0;bp) from selected specimens to support our taxonomic decisions. We revalidated the status of <i>Ephoria uzita</i> (Druce, 1899) stat. rev., raised the status of <i>Ephoria hoppi</i> (Draudt, 1929) stat. n. and described seven new species: <i>Ephoria dandara</i> Orlandin &amp; Piovesan sp. n., <i>Ephoria jelski</i> Orlandin &amp; Garlacz sp. n<b>.</b>, <i>Ephoria yrerua</i> Orlandin &amp; Piovesan sp. n., <i>Ephoria hermosa</i> Orlandin &amp; Garlacz sp. n., <i>Ephoria manuarensis</i> Orlandin &amp; Piovesan sp. n., <i>Ephoria nguaka</i> Orlandin &amp; Piovesan sp. n. and <i>Ephoria julieta</i> Orlandin &amp; Piovesan sp. n. To ensure unambiguous identification of names, two neotypes were designated for: <i>Ephoria hoppi</i> stat. n. and <i>Ephoria lybia</i> Druce, 1898. This contribution expands our knowledge about the diversity and distribution of <i>Ephoria</i>, now including 17 species. Nevertheless, while some species have a wide distribution, others are currently known only from their type locality. The accumulated knowledge, especially in recent years, shows that there is still much to be studied to discover the richness of Apatelodidae species.</p>
