This article provides a comparative analysis of orthopedic residency training in Germany and the United States. Despite similarities in clinical content, the two systems differ substantially in structure, specialization pathways, autonomy, and competency assessment. Understanding these differences is essential for international collaboration, academic exchange, and the harmonization of global training standards in orthopedic surgery.
