Dent Defect Failure Analysis of a Natural Gas Transportation Pipeline
摘要
During the pre-commissioning internal inspection of a buried D219.1 × 6.3 mm L245N natural gas pipeline, it was found that there were multiple dents on the inner surface of the pipeline, which made the pipeline remaining wall thickness less than the lowest allowable limit of the pipeline. The causes of the dent on the inner surface of the pipeline were analyzed and studied by macro-observation, chemical composition analysis, mechanical property test, and micro-morphology observation, and corresponding suggestions were forwarded.
