Sliding Wear Behavior Mapping Under Dry Friction Variable Operating Condition
摘要
Wear is crucial in engineering applications such as industrial, aerospace, automotive, food processing industries, agricultural machinery, and so on. Wear can be decreased by using lubricant, which causes friction declination and reduces wasteful material loss. Wear is surely produced by abrasion, adhesion, oxidation, melting due to high operating temperature, delimitation, and seizure in dry operating conditions. The study focuses on a careful examination of the sliding mechanisms that cause wear in dry environments. A wear map is created using the experimental data. This map depicts the rate of wear as well as the process connected with this dry condition. The experimental data are evaluated conceptually as well as experimentally. This procedure is used for AISI 1045 medium carbon steel, which has broader applications in the engineering field like automotive parts, shafts, axles, gears, etc. Hence, this study shows the classification of wear and the relationship of wear for these mentioned applications efficiently.
